Presenting the next scenes of the voice recital

Today, we present two new scenes of our La Tribuna voice recital! With these scenes, we dig into Amparo's personal drama and suffering, with her dreams of future marriage and overcoming social classes.

Of course, the already published scenes will remain available as well. About today's new excerpts:

  1. Duo Amparo – Ana, "A cada pitillo" ("With each cigarette"): Ana remarks that Amparo already feels like a future noblewoman, dreaming of future matrimony with Baltasar, an upper-class officer. Amparo doesn't share Ana's skepticism, laying out her tender dream of living in a noble house, but opening up the doors to her "friends from yesterday" to overcome the division into social classes.

  2. Amparo's Monologue, "¡Calla, hijo!" ("Quiet, my son!"): This aria starts the last scene of the opera, with a plot full of contradictions: Amparo is staying at her modest home, actually about to give birth to a fatherless child. However, this personally tragic situation is happening over an extremely promising background, to the eyes of Amparo: the imminent political events that will lead to the proclamation of "la Federal", the Federal Republic.
