La Tribuna ...

... needs your help!

When we embarked on this project, we were conscious of what it meant. We were conscious of the complexity of such a work, and we knew that many factors would have to come together to make an eventual premiere of La Tribuna possible. As we worked on it, we had support, especially of La Coruña city and its music department, and even a few opera houses were showing interest, in addition to a historically notable year coming up in 2021, the 100th anniversary of Emilia Pardo Bazan’s decease.

Then, the unexpected happened: a devastating pandemic struck the entire world, leaving many sectors, and especially the performing arts sector, in a difficult financial situation.

In this context of uncertainty, we need more than ever a joint effort of supporters to eventually get the opera performed. The significance of this project involves the literary, musical, cultural and historic legacy of Galicia and Spain coming together in an opera that has all the ingredients to be programmed in virtually any opera house worldwide, and especially in areas linked to the Hispanic world, where such works in Spanish are very rarely performed.

La Tribuna is an opera of the 21st century, one that fills the public with melodies and emotions, and at the same time transmitting cultural and historic values. That’s an important mission. We need public institutions and the private sector to value these aspects and make a joint effort to eventually get the opera premiered, a musical ambassador for Galicia and Spain.

We need your support!
